About Tri-Star

A Local Gutter Company Based in Hixson, TN

Tri-Star Seamless Gutters is owned by James Dykes and has been working out of Hixson, across the Chattanooga area and southeast Tennessee, since 2022. It is a local, independently run business, not a franchise or a call center, so the work stays with the people who quoted it.

We cover both halves of the job: putting new systems up, and keeping the ones already up there doing what they were put up to do.

We had them install the gutters on our new construction home, and they did an amazing job! Communication was great from start to finish, they were professional, easy to work with, and made the entire process so simple. The gutters turned out great, and we couldn’t be happier with their work. It’s always nice to find a company that does what they say they’re going to do and takes pride in their work. We would absolutely recommend them!

We used Tri-Star Gutters for our replacement. While I was researching online I happened to see a Facebook post where someone had asked for a phone number for a individual who installs gutters. One of the replies was from Tri-Star’s owner, James Dykes, who gave the phone number. By giving out his competition’s phone number to a potential customer made me feel confident that James has integrity so Tri-Star was the first company I called. James came out and gave me a quote. I had two other companies, local to the Soddy Daisy/ Lakesite area come do quotes. One company cost $1,000 more and the other was two times higher, twice as high. Of course I went with Tri-Star. Their team showed up early in the morning, they knew exactly every detail and special request I had made to James when he quoted the job. His team walked me around the job to verify what I wanted then the got to work. They finished in about four hours, walked me around again, and we’re on there way to the next job. On price, quality, and quality of work I would have to give them a 10 of 10. If you are getting gutters put on call James at Tri-Star first. With my experience that’s the only call you need to make. Having someone else come look at it is only a waste of time.

Questions

Gutter Questions We Hear Most

What makes a seamless gutter different from a regular one?

Sectional gutters come in fixed lengths and get joined together along the run, and every one of those joints is somewhere a leak can start. A seamless gutter is rolled out of a single coil on site, so the only joints on a straight run are at the corners and the downspout outlets.

That is why we bring the machine to your property rather than delivering pre-cut lengths. The gutter gets made to your roofline, not to a standard size.

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Estimates are free. Send the form on this page or call 423-762-5904 and we will get back to you about coming out to look at the building.

Can my gutters be repaired instead of replaced?

Often, yes. Sagging runs, sections pulling away from the fascia, leaking corners and blocked downspouts are usually repairs rather than a reason to replace the whole system.

Whether a repair is the right call depends on the condition of the existing gutter and how much of it is affected, which is what the assessment is for. We will tell you if a repair will hold and when it is worth replacing instead. See gutter repair for more.

If I get gutter guards, do I still need to clean my gutters?

Yes, just less often. Guards keep leaves and the bigger debris out of the channel, which is where most blockages start. They do not make a gutter maintenance-free, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling.

Fine grit, shingle wash and seed can still build up on top of a guard or work through it, so the system still wants checking periodically. See gutter guards.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

It depends on the property rather than the calendar. A house with pines or hardwoods directly over the roof can need clearing a couple of times a year. A building in the open with nothing overhanging it may go a lot longer.

The thing to watch for is water spilling over the front edge in rain, plants growing in the channel, or staining down the fascia. Any of those means it is time. See gutter cleaning.

Do you work on commercial buildings as well as houses?

Yes, regularly. Larger roofs shed a lot more water, so the gutter and downspout sizing matters more than it does on a house, and getting that wrong is what causes overflow at the valleys.

See commercial gutter installation, or pick “Commercial Gutters” on the estimate form and tell us about the building.

Do you supply gutters to contractors?

We do offer gutter delivery for contractors and for people handling their own install. Get in touch with the measurements and what you are after, and we will go through what we can supply and where we can deliver.
